Weekend Wanderings: North Georgia Edition
Okay...so maybe the corn maze wasn't brimming with thrills. However, Kat and I did manage to snap this cute picture and drag our men, C and M, on a bracing (cold), starlit (pitch black) traipse through the difficult corn maze (we found the exit in 2 minutes) topped off with a romantic hayride (itchy). The North GA Corn Maze is definitely marketed towards the younger crowd - if you're looking for a fun family outing with your munchkins, the corn maze is open till Sunday, November 17th.
2) Boutier Winery is located in Danielsville, GA and owned by the lovely Victor Boutier and Mary Jakupi-Boutier. Pull up a bar stool, order a cheese plate, and pick 10 wines off of their large selection to taste while you chat with Victor and Mary. They will tell you adorable stories of how they met while you sip on fun reds and whites with names like "Let the Big Dawg Drink" (A Cab Sav homage to the UGA Bulldawgs), "Geordeaux" (a Georgian Bordeaux), the "Cranky Bastard" (a Georgia Blackberry wine), and "Diva 'Licious" (a Georgia Peach wine). My personal favorites were the Geordeaux and Diva 'Licious. Find directions and plan your visit here.
Speaking of my brother, here he is being a cute chubby baby 21 years ago:
That's all for now! Enjoy your weekend wanderings throughout the rest of the season. Please comment with any other North GA gems you may have come across that I didn't mention above. My readers and I are always looking for new tips!
Much love, Em.
