Have a lovely weekend...
I then have auditions for Once Upon A Mattress on Saturday morning, which there's still time to sign up if you have an artsy kid in middle/high school with nothing to do this summer. Non-artsy kids are welcome too and they will become artsy through the magic of musical theatre by the end of the summer. It's sure to be a good time! You can read my thoughts on why theatre is awesome here.
Last but not least, I finally get to go to Root City Market. I visited their pop-up market a few months ago and was blown away by all the makers based out of Atlanta. I'm pumped to go to the full-sized summer market tomorrow. Described as a "London weekend market meets the Brooklyn Flea", Root City "turns the spotlight on the makers who are proudly crafting in the South". Some personal favorites of mine so far have been XK Macarons, Muncle Fred Art, and SOMA Goods. Support local goods and check them out this weekend. All the cool kids are doing it! It runs tomorrow, June 14 from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm at 642 Northside Drive NW on the Westside. You can see some of the goodies from XK Macarons and Muncle Fred Art that I picked up at the pop-up below:
