An Ode to Eggs: Egg-in-a-Hole
- Bread of choice (Italian bread pictured)
- Salt and Pepper
TWO: Place your bread in the pan and carefully crack your eggs into the hole, making sure the yolks don't break. Cook until the egg is set on the bottom.
THREE: Sprinkle the egg with salt and pepper, then carefully flip the whole she-bang over with a large spatula.
FOUR: Sprinkle this side with salt, pepper, and some shredded sharp cheddar. Cook until the yolk is at your desired level of doneness (I like mine runny) and the cheese is melty.
FIVE: Serve with tarragon sprinkled on top and sausage on the side. I also like to toast the cut out bread circles and use them to sop up any renegade egg yolk. Yummy!!
