Q: I want you to create a scrapbook for me! Where do we begin?
A: I am so excited to start working with you! Our first step will be a consultation so we can talk about your personal style, what type of scrapbook you're looking for, your number of pictures, journaling, etc. We can set our consultation in person (I'm a big fan of coffee shops) or via Skype so I can show you some of my work samples and ideas.
Q: What do I need to provide for you Emma?
A: I will need you to organize your photos and memorabilia in the order you want them appear in the album (i.e. chronological, by event, etc.). I accept hard copies or digital copies of your photos. (There will be an additional printing fee if you choose to send me digital photocopies.) You'll also need a clear idea of how you want your scrapbook to be styled - I can handle everything from "cute" to "minimalist". We will go over any other specific requests you may have during our consultation.
Q: What is journaling?
A: Journaling is the part of the process I leave up to you. I take care to leave enough space on each page of your scrapbooks for you to write out memories, stories, and titles for each picture. These photos portray your story and it should be your handwriting telling it. We will discuss how much space you may or may not want for writing at our consultation. The scrapbook price also covers 3 high quality pens (black, silver, and gold) that I will give you with the completed scrapbook.
Q: What about memorabilia?
A: A great aspect of scrapbooking is the inclusion of memorabilia! This can be anything from ticket stubs to paper coasters to menus - as long as the item is flat and lightweight it can be included in your scrapbook. Send it my way!
Q: How long will it take to complete my scrapbook?
A: Usually, a 12x12, 15 page (30 front-and-back) scrapbook can be completed in about 4 - 6 weeks. This timeline will vary depending on your scrapbook size and amount of photos. To give you a frame of reference, a 12x12, 15 page scrapbook can hold anywhere from 120-160 pictures depending on how much you want me to crop your pictures down. We can discuss specific deadlines during our consultation if the scrapbook is going to be a gift.
Q: Can I see some of the pages of my scrapbook before you finish it?
A: Of course!! My number one priority is to deliver a product that fulfills your unique vision. I can email you pictures of my progress in order to ensure that I am going in the right direction.
Q: What if I don't want a paper and ink book? Are there other options?
A: Of course! I have recently started offering an online scrapbook service. Check out this website to see if an online book would work better for you. This site chronicles my parents trip to Italy last summer. Similar to the paper and ink option, you'll need to provide all of your photos to me in the order you want them to appear, but in a digital format.
Q: Let's cut to the chase. How much is this going to cost?
A: My starting price for a 12x12, 15 page (30 pages front and back) scrapbook is $200. I also charge a $50 deposit to cover shopping for supplies: the actual book, paper, stickers, tape, etc. After 15 pages, each additional page (front-and-back) is $10/page.
We can work together to create a custom pricing package if you want a different sized scrapbook or less than 15 pages.
If you decide you'd like an online scrapbook option, I will create a custom website at an hourly rate of $15.00 per hour plus any registration costs for Weebly (my preferred building engine).
Q: How do I pay for my scrapbook?
A: I accept cash, personal check, and credit cards through PayPal.
Q: This all sounds great! How do we get started?
A: If you're ready to collaborate with me, please reach out to me via email via my "About Me" page. Here: /about-me.html
